You’re invited to join us for Return to School Ready!, Literacy Spark’s complimentary virtual education series designed to support families, caregivers, and professionals as the school year begins.
Starting soon, these short, engaging sessions are an easy way to gather practical, evidence-informed strategies to support students’ social, emotional, organizational, and academic wellness.

- Breathe. Research continues to show that even small changes in how we breathe can positively influence our nervous system, emotional regulation, and overall well-being. Learn practical breathwork and simple body awareness practices that you can use yourself and share with your child. You’ll leave with accessible tools to help create moments of calm, connection, and regulation in everyday life.

- Partnering with your child’s teacher(s). Positive high value communication strategies can build strong relationships with members of your child’s school-based education team for a productive school year. Learn what happens behind the scenes in support of your child’s access to their education so you can take steps to ensure you are a well-informed advocate and team resource.
Thursday, September 10th
- Reset, Refocus, and Regulate: Tapping for caregivers, children and adolescents. Caregiving is deeply meaningful—and often demanding. In this engaging, interactive workshop, discover how EFT tapping can support both you and your child in managing stress, easing performance anxiety, and strengthening focus. You’ll learn what tapping is, how it works, and how to use it as a simple, effective self-regulation tool across home, school, and daily life. Participants will experience a guided tapping exercise designed to calm the nervous system anytime—whether navigating a challenging moment, supporting your child, or simply taking a needed pause in your day.

- Understanding your child’s IEP/504. The top 5 things to understand in your child’s IEP or 504 plan when starting a new school year. Learn how to prepare for developmental changes and grade-level expectations, and find ways to support their continued progress in meeting quarterly objectives while anticipating challenges.
Thursday, September 24th
- Co-Creating Neuroinclusive Spaces. How to identify, advocate for & collaboratively create person-centered communities for All. Learn how to listen to your child’s experience, respond to all parties with compassion and build a bridge for positive change when challenging situations unfold in community settings not yet inclusive of neurodiverse children, youth and adolescents. Presented by the Dyslexic Positive Libraries Initiative 501(c)(3). DPLI provides education and free programming for library workers nationally to address the current United States literacy crisis so All can learn to read.
